Tax filing and reporting deadlines

The dates businesses forget most often, gathered in one place by month, quarter and year. A late filing is penalised however correct it is.

Monthly

For businesses that file monthly.

  • 20th

    Monthly VAT return

    Businesses filing VAT monthly

Due on the 20th of the month following the period.

  • 20th

    Monthly personal income tax return

    Employers withholding PIT monthly

Same deadline as the monthly VAT return.

Quarterly

This is where most small and mid-sized businesses sit.

  • Last day of the first month of the next quarter

    Quarterly VAT return

    Businesses filing VAT quarterly

That is 30 April, 31 July, 31 October and 31 January.

  • Last day of the first month of the next quarter

    Quarterly personal income tax return

    Employers withholding PIT quarterly

Same deadline as the quarterly VAT return.

  • 30th of the first month of the next quarter

    Provisional corporate income tax payment

Businesses with corporate income tax arising

A payment only; there is no quarterly return to file.

Annual

The easiest group to forget, and the most expensive to miss.

  • 31 Mar

    Annual corporate income tax finalisation

Businesses whose financial year matches the calendar year

Due on the last day of the third month after the financial year ends.

  • 31 Mar

    Personal income tax finalisation

Employers finalising on behalf of their staff

  • 31 Mar

    Annual financial statements

Businesses whose financial year matches the calendar year

  • 30 Apr

    Individual personal income tax finalisation

Individuals with income from several payers, or claiming a refund

A month longer than when an employer finalises for you.

If the final day of a deadline falls on a non-working day, it moves to the next working day.
